Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Thesio ("we," "us," or "our") built the Thesio iOS application (the "App") as a professional networking platform. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. By using Thesio, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

This policy is accessible within the App under Settings → About → Privacy Policy and at jointhesio.com/privacy.

2. Data We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Name and email address — collected through Sign in with Apple when you first create your account

  • Profile photo — uploaded voluntarily when setting up your profile

  • Career information — job titles, employer names, role descriptions, and employment history you enter

  • Educational background — school names, degrees, and locations you enter

  • Professional bio and skills — free-form text you write to describe yourself

  • Connection preferences and interests — information you provide during onboarding and profile setup

Information collected automatically through your use of the App:

  • Interaction data — which profiles you swipe on, your swipe decisions (connect, pass, decide later), and connection request activity. This data is used exclusively to improve your personalized match recommendations and is never visible to other users.

  • Usage credits data — records of your in-app activity that affect your usage balance, used to operate the usage system

We do not collect precise or approximate location data. We do not access your contacts, microphone, or camera except when you explicitly choose to upload a profile photo.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Create and maintain your Thesio account

  • Display your profile to other users in the discovery feed

  • Generate personalized professional match recommendations

  • Operate the connection request and messaging systems

  • Operate the usage credits system

  • Send you in-app notifications about connection requests and matches

  • Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the safety of our community

4. AI-Powered Matching — Data Sharing with Anthropic

Thesio uses artificial intelligence technology from Anthropic, PBC to power its matching intelligence. Specifically, when generating match recommendations and profile keys, your profile information — including your career history, education, bio, and skills — is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing.

This data is used solely to generate matching signals and is not stored by Anthropic beyond what is necessary to process each request. Anthropic's use of your data is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

By using Thesio, you consent to this processing. You may opt out of appearing in the discovery feed at any time under Settings → Privacy → Appear in Discovery.

5. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services receive limited data as part of operating the App:

  • Anthropic — receives profile text data (career info, education, bio, skills) to generate match recommendations. See Section 4.

  • Supabase, Inc. — our backend infrastructure provider. Stores your account data, profile information, messages, and usage data on secure servers. Supabase does not use your data for its own purposes. See supabase.com/privacy.

  • Logo.dev — receives company domain names (e.g., "google.com") to retrieve company logos displayed in the App. No personal information is transmitted.

  • Apple, Inc. — Sign in with Apple authentication. Apple's handling of your Apple ID data is governed by Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/privacy.

We do not use advertising networks, behavioral tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics tools. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. What Other Users Can See

Your public profile — name, profile photo, current role, education, bio, skills, and match keys — is visible to other Thesio users in the discovery feed.

Your private data — swipe history, behavioral signals, usage credits data, and matching algorithm inputs — is never visible to other users and is protected by database-level security controls.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon account deletion, we permanently remove your profile, match history, messages, usage data, and all associated personal information from our systems within a reasonable time. Some data may be retained for a short period in backup systems before being purged.

8. Your Rights and Controls

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at hello@jointhesio.com

  • Correct inaccurate information through the Edit Profile screen at any time

  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account

  • Opt out of appearing in the discovery feed at Settings → Privacy → Appear in Discovery

  • Block other users at Settings → Privacy → Blocked Users

  • Revoke Sign in with Apple by going to your iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID → Thesio

9. Children's Privacy

Thesio is a professional networking platform intended for users 17 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that a user is under 17, we will promptly delete their account and all associated data. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@jointhesio.com.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard technical safeguards including encrypted data transmission (TLS), row-level database security ensuring users can only access their own data, and service-role-only write access for sensitive operations. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Sign in with Apple

Thesio uses Sign in with Apple as its sole authentication method. When you sign in, Apple may share your name and email address with us. You may choose to hide your real email address using Apple's private email relay feature. Please review Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/privacy for details on how Apple handles your Apple ID data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If changes are significant, we will provide more prominent notice within the App.
